"The beauty in life is that it is a never ending learning experience. How would life be if everything was the same day after day; month after month; year after year? While some routines are vital to our success, others are the total opposite. Despite this, life brings many new things in many different ways. I invite you to take each moment and extract the most positive message you can from it. My biography below is just a small example of such a beautiful thing called LIFE."
-Letty Astudillo-
A decsendent of the P'urhépecha tribe and mixed with European blood (primarily of Italian ancestry), Letty is a Mestizo who was born in the US-Mexico border City of Tijuana in Baja California, Mexico. Althought Letty migrated to the United States with her family when she was 5 years old, she has made several trips back to her homeland over the years.
All of Letty's basic schooling was accomplished in Los Angeles, California (USA). In 1983, a new chapter in Letty's life began after moving to San Diego, California to pursue a College education. Five years later, Letty earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and several upper division units in Special Education where her passion remains. In addition, Letty has traveled to Peru to participate in an Andean Culture Seminar where she focused her studies in traditional Andean music; customs; culture and language (Quechua and Aymara).
In 1997, Letty, along with her husband Francisco Astudillo, decided it was time to devote herself full time to the upbringing of their young children. This also enabled Letty to take on the role of formalizing Francisco's music business. In order to fullfill her new responsibilties, Letty returned to College to embark on a totally new field of study: Business Administration. Since then, Letty has become active to some aspects of TINKU's administrative needs.
Born into a musical family and thus a music lover at heart, Letty has found that her functions with TINKU have several benefits. They allow her the freedom of time to continue to focus on important issues in her life; to remain close to her family; and to continue educating herself and others, this time, about the music performed by TINKU.
